So, I posted the Cinco de Mayo Fajita picture last night using my cell phone email and WordPress.com must have changed something on email posts to cause my cell phone tag line, “Sent from my Antikythera mechanism.” to show up at the top of the post.
My cell phone tag line has never showed up like that before (sorry…) and I took it out of the post afterwards, but it did generate a conversation with my Mother about what the Antikythera mechanism is. The link above will tell you much more, but in short, it’s generally accepted as the first known analog computer, from around 150 BC.
I have changed my cell phone tag line to the above because I’m opposed to paying to advertise for a company that I bought a device or service from. They should pay me to advertise for them. I know, it’s very trivial, but it bugs me.
Anyways, I then Google’d “cell phone tag lines” and came up with some good quotes on www.searchquotes.com. Now, they had nothing to do with what I was looking for, but they were good. I don’t know how you feel about people letting cell phones permeate their life (hey, I can be guilty too!), but I’ll include a few that impressed me.
- “Life is what happens when your cell phone is charging.”
- “We’re living an era where capturing moments using our phones is more important than actually living these moments with whoever is beside us.”
- “Smartphones have already replaced camera, calendars, notebooks, alarm clocks, etc. in our life, don’t let them replace you in your family.”
